I'm Loving....

Alexander McQueen's final collection.
80% finished at the time of McQueen's death, this collection was presented to a small number of editors in a much lesser and quieter way than his last collection.
Looking at medieval beauty, the dark ages, full of light, texture and pattern, this collection screams glamour.
McQueen achieved alot in his time, and this collection is a perfect final glance at his life and creations.

I particularly love this last gown, the shapes created and the beautifully ornate designs on the bottom of the dress are genius.

Oops...

OK So on my last entry I said I'd really get going with this Blog didn't I?
And what have I done?
Nothing.
Sorry about that...
It turns out that my planned work experience placement this month has been cancelled, so I have been spending all my computer time, trying to find someone else to take me on, which is bloody hard!
I haven't really got much to update at the moment, I've found no new loves, and have not been searching through style.com, but maybe tonight I will get the chance... Maybe.

Easter...

OK, so term's finished and I'm back at home for Easter.
Normally... Great!
For me... Not so.
I'm going to try and really put some effort into getting this blog up and running properly over the holiday, but at the moment I'm just trying to get away.
As per usual...
This place is like hell.

I'm Loving....

Alice and Olivia's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.

Normally, this kind of style is soo not me, but there's just something about the girlyness in this collection that I really love. As style.com rightly says, the collection is like "candy".... or sweets for us English. And I can see the strong Alice in Wonderland inspiration when it comes to prints and hats!
(which by the way is brilliant, and if you haven't seen it yet, do so!!)

I love the idea of being able to wear these gorgeous little hats on nights out and general day way, instead of them being restricted to big glamorous events such as weddings and the races. Can you Imagine glamour coming back to the English public?! ....No more bum cheeks hanging from under neath mini skirts, boobs and stomachs popping out of tops that are too small, and hair that looks like the owner has been dragged through a bush backwards?... No. Unfortunately I can't either... Nice to dream though...

You can find Alice and Olivia's full collection here at style.com

OK...

So I've been a bit behind on my blogging, I've been very busy with all my uni work...
So unfortunately I dont have anything to update you with at the moment.
My two Aztec photo shoots will probably be uploaded after next week after I have edited everything and so on...
Right now I'm working on an Aztec head-dress with lots of feathers and jewels.
And to be fair I'm going a bit crazy... I need a break. Badly.
Any offers?

Aztec Shoot

OK!!
So today I completed the first half of my Aztec project (well almost), with just two outfits left to shoot tomorrow.
I'm happy with my result of my photos today, although some will need reshooting due to a dodgy flash!! But you'll have to wait til at least tomorrow to see them, I might even Photoshop them before you see the result so keep checking back!

Model Needed!

Are you or do you know anyone who is 5"8' or over, with olive skin and a great body?
I'm looking for a Bikini model for next Aztec themed photo shoot, which will be based on Aztec fantasy - Aztec Princess. This shoot is for Wonderland fashion magazine, which some of you may recognise from BBC series Dragon's Den!
My Model must be willing wear face paint and binki's! Yes, I know its an unusual mix but with lots of accessories and layered clothing, I know this will work!
If your interested or know anyone who may be, please leave a comment or contact me on facebook! ASAP! xx

I'm loving...

Dolce and Gabbana Autumn/Winter 2010
I'm not normally a big D&G fan, but this collection has got a certain something that I can't really put my finger on, that really jumps out at me.

I absolutely love the 50's style swimming costumes and the thick straps really complete the outfit. I'll definately be buying something like this for my holidays!

This red and black dress however, I love the design... and in fact I remember a very similar outfit in my sisters wardrobe that I have stolen on several occasions... but I think the shape of this dress has really let it down. The dress should be figure-hugging and showing off the shape of the model's hips, instead of creating this sack-like shape.

I absolutely adore this oversized, complicated choker piece with its many roses and hearts and jewels. I wish I could make this kind of jewellery myself, and believe me I will try!

This golden disk and washer detail could really have been influenced by the Aztec meme that I have been studying. I love this outfit.

I'm loving...

Versus Autumn/ Winter 2010
This collection is more on my subdued taste in fashion.
I found Versus on style.com and I'm really loving the bondage style straps in the designs.
I really love this first design, but it's really reminding me of the whole underwear-as-outerwear trend that so big a seasons back.
The big tutu-like stand-up skirts really finish off these outfits, and the collection as a whole really works together.

Rant.

OK, so my photo shoot today went tits up. My model had to go to work early so I'm rather pissed off.
Means I've had to delay everything til next week, meaning I can't return all my clothes til after Tuesday aswell which means I'm skint til then.
It puts me behind on the rest of my work too, because I could have just gotten this shoot done and out of the way.
To top it all off, I went into uni early today to get everything ready, and ironed all my clothes nice and flat and then my model texts me, half an hour before I was supposed to meet her.
HALF AN HOUR?!
Thats short notice for you isn't it.
I need some reliable models!
My last project I had 4 seperate models cancel on me. This cannot happen again!!
If you know anyone whos 5"8' or above, with olive skin and a gorgeous body/face please let me know! But only if they are reliable and likely to keep to their arragements!!!
